Vancouver Hack Space provides a physical space where hackers, computer geeks, engineers, circuit benders, crafters, and other creative types can gather to share ideas, equipment and opinions. They aim to create a sort of 24/7 brain gym, where members can show up and work on personal projects, consult with friends, and learn new tricks. More than just a studio space, VHS focuses on sharing all sorts of knowledge within a friendly and collaborative atmosphere.
Every Tuesday and Thursday night, their space is open for people to come and work on one of their projects, socialize with other nerdy folk and maybe learn something at one of the workshops. Each Tuesday meeting may have a theme - maybe a presentation or a project demo or a show-and-tell, or it may be an "Open Hack" night, where there is no specific talk, but the space is open.
